Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Receives Perpetual Pavement Award

KYTC Perpetual Pavement Award

The 2009 award is for an asphalt pavement section on Interstate 65 located in Hart County, Kentucky (mile points 61 - 76). Originally constructed in 1965, this section of I-65 was one of the earliest asphalt pavement sections built on Kentucky's Interstate system.  Interstate 65 is a major north-south commercial freight corridor through Kentucky which carries high traffic volumes with 50% heavy trucks.
