| Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Receives Perpetual Pavement Award |

The 2009 award is for an asphalt pavement section on Interstate 65 located in Hart County, Kentucky (mile points 61 - 76). Originally constructed in 1965, this section of I-65 was one of the earliest asphalt pavement sections built on Kentucky's Interstate system. Interstate 65 is a major north-south commercial freight corridor through Kentucky which carries high traffic volumes with 50% heavy trucks. |
