Brian K. Wood, P.E.

Executive Director

In October of 2005, the PAIKY Board of Directors named Brian K. Wood as Executive Director of the Association. Brian joined the PAIKY staff in 2000 as the Assistant Director/Engineer in order to assist with association activities. Brian is actively involved in technical issues facing the industry and is spending time trying to promote and educate users and specifiers of our product. He is actively involved in the Technical Committee, Environmental Health & Safety Committee, and the planning of the annual Winter Training School. In his role with PAIKY, he serves as the primary liaison between the asphalt industry and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, as well as the Kentucky General Assembly.  He routinely assists architects and engineers on issues such as materials specifications, pavement type selection, pavement design, and best practices for asphalt pavement construction.

Erin Gibbs

Marketing Director

In December 2018, the Plantmix Asphalt Industry of Kentucky brought on Erin Gibbs as the Marketing Director. Erin is responsible for developing and expanding PAIKY’s marketing strategies, public relations, and meeting planning. She is also responsible for promoting asphalt to the Transportation Cabinet, the Kentucky General Assembly, City and County officials, architects, and engineers. She is heavily involved in the Women of Asphalt Kentucky Branch, and various PAIKY committees such as the Marketing Committee and Winter Training School Committee.

Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in dance, with a minor in Performing Arts Administration, from Western Kentucky University. Before joining PAIKY, Erin worked with the Kentucky Magistrates & Commissioners Association, Franklin County Schools Payroll Department, and the KY Cabinet for Economic Development.

Joy Brooks

Office Manager

Joy Joined the Plantmix Asphalt Industry of Kentucky team in February of 2024 as Office Manager in training. With a background in office administration and management, she brings 15+ years of experience to the team. Joy holds and Associate Degree in Applied Science and an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts, both from Washtenaw Community College in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Her responsibilities within the office include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general oversight of office related issues. She also spends a considerable amount of time obtaining information from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and using the data for billing and tonnage tracking purposes. Before joining PAIKY, Joy worked with the Frankfort Area Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Frankfort, Inc. Outside work, Joy servers as chauffeur to her four children and enjoys reading.
